Companies Reporter will be responsible for covering major U.S. industrial corporations. The beat is focused on industries such as heavy equipment, steelmaking, mining, fertilizer and bulk shipping. The ideal candidate knows how to sift through a company’s financial reports to uncover the underlying issues that impact profit and growth, with the goal of producing actionable, investable financial journalism. The candidate also should know how to land interviews with top executives and to ask questions that break news.

 

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree with at least five years of experience as a reporter at a major news organization.  Applicants should be highly organized with the ability to work independently and meet daily deadlines along with producing weekly and monthly enterprise story ideas.The reporter will also need to bring a healthy source list and be prepared to adapt the coverage to companies driving the most readership.  As a multimedia news organization, TheStreet expects candidates to employ videos, graphics and photos in their storytelling and to expand their reach through social media.

 

Wall Street Deal Reporter will be a well connected reporter who excels in source-building and is driven to break news on Wall Street. The candidate should bring a hefty list of well-placed sources and have experience with multimedia, including video and social media.

 

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree with at least five years of experience as a Wall Street reporter at a major news organization.  Candidates with experience on Wall Street outside of journalism will also be considered if they can produce compelling content. The Office of Development and External Relations serves a primary role in the areas of outreach, membership, development, event planning, media and public relations. The Office maintains daily communication with the Board of Directors, corporate and individual sponsors, and the media. Job Responsibilities

Tracking Council media mentions and measuring public impact of Council activities

Qualifications

Need a rock star producer for a tech segment – entry level to some hands on experience necessary. Excellent opportunity for the right person who wants to do it all. We produce a tech segment for local TV news so an interest in technology, gadgets and science is a huge plus. Also know this is an early morning job, so call time is generally 4 AM.

Responsible for (daily): coordinating live shots, writing intros and teases for stories, some basic editing on Final Cut Pro, uploading video to a website/content management system, updating website stories and assisting with the taping of wraps for segments. Additional duties typically include assisting with live remotes, in-studio segments and guests, traveling to location shoots, writing PKG’s and coming up with story ideas.

Position is 35 hours a week…College degree and related experience at a TV station necessary, although we’d consider the right person out of school. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written plus strong organizational skills. You must be detail-oriented and able to follow directions and have the ability to perform duties and make independent decisions under extreme pressure. This is a pretty regular schedule but you must be open to working various shifts and times.

Research Associate, Global Assets Project- New America Foundation (Washington, DC)

The New America Foundation’s Global Assets Project, whose mission is to develop and advance detailed, market-oriented proposals and research to enable low- and moderate-income individuals throughout the developing world to meet their savings and assets needs throughout life, seeks a policy analyst to work on global savings and social protection linkages, with particular emphasis on Government to Person (G2P) payments and conditional cash transfers (CCTs). A global movement towards account-linked social protection payments is gaining steam, with increased interest from the financial inclusion, social policy, behavioral economics, and aid/development fields. While the field of work and study on the topic is only emerging, recent experience suggests that there exists an incredible potential to leverage strategies toward financial inclusion and social payments to more quickly and effectively provide financial and human capital asset building opportunities for the world’s poorest.

Position Description
As part of the Global Assets Project team, the Research Associate will support the Global Savings and Social Protection Initiative (GSSP). GSSP aims to develop this multi-faceted, multi-stakeholder body of work, and ultimately, enable the global creation and advancement of sound, effective and efficient savings-linked conditional cash transfer (SLCCT) models. To that end, the research associate will work with them team to: 1) map out the global landscape of actors, programs, products, and infrastructure in order; 2) identify opportunities and challenges to SLCCTs, broadly and within certain contexts; 3) analyze proposed and possible product and policy models, and other methodologies; and 4) share those findings with the emerging and growing field. This is a one-year position with potential for renewal.

Primary Responsibilities
Assist in researching the global landscape of savings and social protection.
Provide research and writing support to GSSP team, as needed.
Draft literature reviews and background memoranda.
Assist with data entry.
Edit, proofread, and fact-check a variety of policy reports and papers.

The Advocacy Writer is responsible for drafting, editing, and proofing content for media outreach, web, email, publications, and other campaign and organizational communications. The Writer will also contribute to the overall work of the communications unit by participating in direct media outreach, online organizing, and materials development, while working in an
enterprising and active office atmosphere.
We are looking for candidates with strong organizing and non-profit communications backgrounds who are interested in professional growth and opportunities for advancement within the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
